Housing
Vote NO on Proposition 98. Everyone's housing prices go up when renters' lose their rights.
Vote YES on Proposition 99. Protect owners' property rights without hurting renters.
We need to build more housing units, but our local decision-makers must be smart about how to grow.
Transit-oriented developments provide incentives for developers to build on existing public transit lines.
Mixed-use projects provide ground-floor retail and commercial, with condo-style housing on upper floors. As your Assemblywoman, I will advocate for tax credits and other sweeteners to build these project types. We can protect existing neighborhoods while also providing housing for the next generation of Californians.
Stable renters help quality of life because they are likely to get involved with communities. I support protecting the 60-day notice rule for longtime renters who are on month-to-month rentals. Renters have a much better chance to find a new local rental with two months notice than with one month notice. Stability promotes quality.
Senior housing is in short supply throughout California. I support incentives for developers to build more units for our "chronologically enhanced" residents. Give seniors a chance to downsize their living space without suffering financial ruin. Everyone wins when larger homes can be sold to new families that need the space.
